It was a beautiful movie, La Nuit de la Glisse 2003, the perfect moment in the mountains of Tyrol, Innsbruck. I bought a 12m Slingshot Fuel 2003 and sent it up to Kiel to start with a friend on a football ground. In fact, I did NOT know that you needed a pump (this was not part of the movie) so we needed to inflate the kite with our mouth! As well as the necessity for a harness. Anyway, I am happy that there was not enough wind.​

Recognising that perhaps being a kitesurf instructor in my 40's is not optimum, I completed my Tourism Management studies in Austria. After which, I moved to Spain where I instantly fell in love with Tarifa and still am.

​

In search of THE place to live for many years, my choice in finally settling came down to finding no better life quality in all aspects than there.

​

Throughout my search, I discovered the world with kitesurfing connecting me to like-minded people. Whereby, I clearly felt a drive to not only share my passion for this incredible sport but to also show the lifestyle that comes with it which continues to hold until today.

​

During my teaching career, I realised that competing in parallel was not compatible. So, I decided to stop competing and focus on creating my own kiteboarding school, Free Your Mind.

​

Thereafter, entering into the kitesurfing industry with my son and husband in hand, moving to Sri Lanka to set up a kite equipment factory, organising events such as the Youth Olympic Qualifiers in and the GKA World Cup in Dakhla, working in the largest watersport resort on site.

​

Nowadays, I love to share my time with open-minded people who enjoy experiencing a new lifestyle. Which is best combined with Yoga, the perfect supplement to kitesurfing.
